Thorpe Lea Fishery

Thorpe Lea Fishery

Opened in June 2004, Thorpe Lea fishery is an 18 acre lake with 60 swims. RMC in partnership with British Waterways stocked this water with 2,500 carp to 18lb from Drayton Reservoir in the Midlands. As far as RMC are aware these are the only fish in the lake so anglers are unlikely to be bothered by any smaller species. Depths vary from 2ft to 18ft with a number of gravel bars dotted around as well as three islands. Nearly all the swims have some form of cover.
Thorpe Lea has already proved itself to be a spectacular fishery and the carp are packing on the weight fast with many 20lb+ fish already reported. Bottom baits, floaters, zig rigs, method feeders, bagging wagglers etc all work well here.
Winter features with Ian Russell, Richard 'Cash' Farnan, Martin Bowler and others for the leading magazines have all resulted in recommendations of non-stop action and mega hauls of carp.

Thorpe lea Fishery offers many onsite services in which include secure parking facilities, a perminant on site bailiff happy to assist you on your visit, a small tacle shop and refreshments for sale in the lakeside cabin and a transportation service from the car park to the swims is provided free of charge for the disabled, with a small charge made for others if needed.
