At Rorke’s Drift on the Buffalo River, visitors will be stunned by our beautiful position, our imposing views and the unique architectural design. We are a Retreat to Reality for the adventurous spirit!
The Hotel is 45mins from Dundee and 25 mins from Nqutu and approached on good gravel roads; the journey from Jo’burg or Durban encourages our guests to spend at least two nights, and a week will still leave things undone for your next visit (see Sarah’s diary in our Area tab) Our comfortable modern facilities were completed in 2011.
Rorke’s wagon drift is within our grounds, and of course there is the Battlefield, just 5 minutes or a short walk away, where 11 Victoria Crosses were awarded. The dramatic field of Isandlwana that was fought on the same day is just a 20 minute drive, and the poignant memorial at Fugitive’s Drift is 15 minutes downstream.
