Magic Waters Patagonia

Magic Waters Patagonia

Magic Waters is located at 35 miles northwest of Balmaceda airport and about 20 miles from the city of Coyhaique. The lodge is located at the end of a gravel road situated at the outlet of Barroso Lake in a small mountain valley, overlooking 2 small “lagunas”. Built in the recent years by the Barrueto family using local wood and stones, it was created to give a relaxed atmosphere so that all visitors will feel at home. From the great room, you will be able to take in the beautiful Patagonian panorama while a fire is burning in the fireplace made from local stones. The lodge has a fly tying area, room for drying waders and fishing gear as well. They also offer laundry service, telephone and an internet connection.

Your hosts for your stay are Eduardo Barrueto and his wife Consuelo Balboa. Both are avid cooks, excel in customer service and have a good taste for wine and Chilean cuisine. Food and meals are a very important part of the experience at Magic Waters. The lodge chef is Sandra, Eduardo's mother. She prepares and cooks favorite recipes coined in her family for generations. She has been the chef in various lodges and restaurants in the area, and has developed a fusion cuisine between typical Chilean and Patagonian cuisine, bringing an identity to each meal. The family grows all of their own vegetables, purchase lamb and cattle from local ranchers and buys fresh seafood from family friends in the area. All of the food at the lodge is locally sourced and organic.

Chile is famous for good wines and Magic Waters is proud to have a large selection of great red and white wines from the best vineyards in Chile and Argentina. Every night, excellent wine will be paired to match your evening cuisine.
