We are situated in the small village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, by road 1, 260 km east of Reykjavík.
Go into the village and take the second turn to the right just beside the Liqueur Store and Systrakaffi
Kirkjubær II is a prime location to serve as your basis for day tours to some of Iceland most remarkable natural attractions, such as Fjaðrárgljúfur (6 km) Skaftafell National Park (70 km) and The amazing Jökulsárlón (120 km) or up to the National Park: Laki, Eldgjá, Langisjór, Fjallabaksleið nyrðri.
In Kirkjubæjarklaustur you find the Church Floor 300 meters east of the Camp Site. You can also walk to Stjórnarfoss (1km). If you like 5 km hiking go to Systrafoss, go up there and down near the Church Floor, this is the famous Love Path.
In the summer you can go daytours by bus or super jeep to Laki craters, Eldgjá volcanic flissure and the beautiful lake Langisjór. See more information on Vatnajokull National Park.
