Our Holiday Cottages have direct access into the Forest of Dean where it is possible to walk for miles without meeting another person. Being in a quiet rural area away from crowds, roads and traffic, they are the ideal place in which to escape society. The Royal Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, is an ancient oak woodland which is home to deer, buzzards and wild boar as well as many other little animals and birds. Sheep have the right to roam freely under an ancient law, and life goes on at a leisurely pace.
The village of Yorkley is easy walking distance from Deanwood Holiday Cottages being only half a mile away. In Yorkley Village there are 2 general stores, one of which also houses the Post Office, 2 village pubs, a hairdresser, Health Centre and Community Centre.
