About Barn Elms Fly Fishery

Hello, I’m Rosemary Balsdon and welcome to Barn Elms Fly Fishery where our aim is to make your every visit relaxing, exciting and very enjoyable. We want to be your trout fishery of choice in Berkshire for that “Day Out” to remember. Barn Elms Lake – is a beautifully, tranquil and relaxing trout fishing location with a spring fed chalk stream lake situated on a working farm in the idyllic Pang Valley, deep in rural Berkshire. Although 6 acres in size it is an intimate lake shaped like a four-leafed clover with nooks and crannies, suitable for novices and experienced fishermen alike. The lake has an average depth of 8 feet with an abundance of aquatic life, mature trees and a very atmospheric ambience. The lake is stocked weekly with energetically fighting Rainbow and Brown Trout. These are predominantly 2lbs with ten percent of the weekly stocking up to 8lbs.

Pre-booking for day fishing is not necessary, however, on arrival you are requested to report to the bailiff on duty. Corporate days are organised every Wednesday and pre-booking is required. Please record the weight of all fish caught on the cards supplied.

We are privileged to be a Troutmasters water. Get a FREE TROUTMASTERS badge if you are one of the month’s best three catches at Barn Elms and a Gold Badge if you win 5 badges from 5 different fisheries. See the leaflet in the Lodge for further details and ask the Bailiff on duty.
